Spanning the entire northern bank of DC's Southeastern quadrant, the neighborhood of Navy Yard is most known for being the home to the Washington Navy Yard, infamous Nationals Park, and Yards Park. A newer neighborhood that has quickly come into its own, residents and visitors flock to the streets of Navy Yard to explore its emerging restaurants, fantastic outdoor spaces, and to take in views of the boats on the Anacostia River. Yards Park welcomes you to get outside and explore its number of outdoor destinations. The Canal Basin and Waterfall is a favorite warm weather spot where visitors can cool off and splash around. The Great Lawn is framed by shady trees and is a wonderful area for festivals, events, and activities. The Anacostia Riverwalk Trail begins at The Navy Yard and will connect both sides of the Anacostia Waterfront. Wide and welcoming, the 20-mile trail offers plenty of space for biking, walking, and running. Navy Yard is serviced by the Navy Yard-Ballpark Metro station.​
