Real estate has always been an important part of Susie’s life. Her grandfather developed a large portion of Chevy Chase, DC, and her father was a builder. Susie’s brothers are also in the home construction and renovation business. She began her real estate career selling new homes for Richmarr Construction Company and then working for her father in new home construction, where she oversaw the construction, sales and marketing of numerous projects. She credits that experience with giving her hands-on experience in all aspects of home building, including land acquisition, design, financing, permitting and zoning.
Susie later worked in commercial real estate. One of her more important projects was the development of Dulles Corner, a 3-million-square-foot office building complex near Dulles Airport. Susie worked with some of the region’s top lawyers in negotiating large-scale leases and joint ventures, including 370,000 square feet for ATT. She also worked with a number of the region’s best architects, landscape architects and general contractors to help realize these projects. From this work Susie developed valuable skills and experience that she now uses in assisting her residential clients.
Susie has held leadership positions in the Northern Virginia Building Industry Association (NVBIA), the National Association of Industrial and Office Parks (NAOIP) and Commercial Real Estate Women of Washington (CREW).
Susie’s in-depth experience in the home construction business, as well as leasing and marketing large-scale office buildings, make her an invaluable resource to clients in all phases of residential real estate.
