The conference was hosted by John Brian Losh, Chairman and CEO of Luxury Real Estate, (LuxuryRealEstate.com and Who’s Who of Luxury Real Estate), a membership-driven luxury brokerage assemblage based in Seattle, Washington. The network includes the most prominent global luxury brokers and meets three times each year, nationally and internationally, to discuss current real estate trends.
The conference in Vail covered multiple topics of great interest to those who serve the high-net-worth demographic. An ongoing theme, covered at each of the conferences, is the state of the luxury market around the world. In addition, discussions focused on the mechanics of creative listening, media fragmentation, what it takes to create a virtual office, the changing REALTOR roles and five practices of exemplary leadership.
The highlight of the event was a Black Tie Dinner and Awards Presentation, honoring the career of Thomas B. Anderson with the Lifetime Achievement Award. This prestigious award is given to the Luxury Real Estate member who has set an example for the real estate industry and displayed excellence throughout his or her career. “Tom Anderson is a true leader is the industry,” stated John Brian Losh. “There is a reason every company he has been with is successful.”
For over twenty-five years, Tom Anderson has made his mark in the luxury real estate industry. Twenty-three of those years were spent in varying executive positions at Sotheby’s International Realty, including Executive Vice President and Regional Head of the New York Tri-State and Mid-Atlantic Regions of the United States, and member of the firm's real estate Executive Committee. As a broker in the District of Columbia and six states, Tom has made a name for himself as an elite real estate agent who has achieved some of the most impressive and important sales on the East Coast. Most recently Tom has taken the position as President of Washington Fine Properties, LLC, in Washington, D.C. Anderson co-founded the company in 1999 and assumed the position of President in 2004 upon the sale of Sotheby’s International Realty to the Cendant franchise. As well as serving as President, Tom fulfills the firm’s role in industry affiliations and board positions in addition to overseeing agent development and heading the firm’s luxury property program, Fine Properties International.
