Arnold Bradley Sargent Davy & Chew is headed today by Virginia “Ginny” Chew, one of the original founding partners of the firm, which was started by five very successful (all female!) brokers in 1972, as a breakaway from J.F. Begg Inc. (now Long & Foster). Says Ginny, “We founded Arnold Bradley as a boutique, carriage trade firm some 30 years ago and have established and maintained a reputation for the marketing of fine properties, emphasizing close personal attention to each listing. When we were looking for new partners, it was hard to find a better fit than Washington Fine Properties. Our operating philosophies are so similar. Bigger is not always better!”
Ginny will be joining WFP with her fellow colleagues Boucie Addison, Margot Wilson, Pam Lottman, Sheila Griffin, Kim Gibson, and Louisa Parkinson, all of whom have been integral to the success of Arnold Bradley over the years. Said Dana Landry, “As Principal Broker of WFP, I’ve gone from being impressed to only being more impressed in my dealings with every agent at Arnold Bradley over the last 10 years. This is an amazing grouping of very talented, professional agents, and I couldn’t be happier knowing that now we’ll be working together day to day.”
“When you talk about strategic fits, it doesn’t get any better than this,” said Marc Schappell, Managing Partner of WFP who is responsible for the strategic growth of the firm. “Arnold Bradley has been the ‘gold standard’ of firms here in the greater DC area for over three decades. Our two firms both operate off of a very similar professional services model that serves us well and differentiates us from other real estate firms in the market. We’re not a star show … we’re a family of stars. All of our agents, including those who now join us from Arnold Bradley, have as their first priority offering the highest level of professionalism while selling real estate in a client-first manner.”
In today’s challenging market, sellers and buyers are looking to align themselves with a firm that has demonstrated results, one that can back up their pitch with action. According to Anderson, “Despite what many think today, there’s an active market in these challenging times, no matter what the price range. Buyers, however, are demanding more and more guidance from their agents, and they want their guidance backed up with facts. It’s not the market of a year or so ago when opportunistic talk alone led to a deal.”
Arnold Bradley Sargent Davy & Chew will be relocating to Washington Fine Properties’ office at 3201 New Mexico Avenue, NW, in Washington, DC. Washington Fine Properties also has offices in Georgetown, Montgomery County, MD, and Northern Virginia. In the Virginia countryside, Washington Fine Properties operates under the name of Armfield Miller & Ripley Fine Properties with offices in Middleburg and Washington, Virginia.
