Alexa was a tremendous asset over the past two years as my husband and I sought a new home. Thoughtful, professional and patient, she was an excellent listener who focused on assuring our needs and interests were always paramount. She did an excellent job of pre-screening homes so as to not waste our time on properties that did not meet our needs. A terrific, dedicated and hard working agent, I would strongly recommend her to any serious buyer or seller.
Alexa listed my parents' home, and from day one, showed her skill in marketing and selling a home. She immediately suggested very cost-effective upgrades. She was right on target with every suggestion she made, helping us with contractors, and guiding us in preparing the house for sale at a very reasonable expense. The weekend of our first (and only) open house we had 26 families come through and had an offer we accepted for the full asking price two days later. Beyond her obvious ability in real estate, Alexa is a wonderful human being, positive, always reliable, encouraging, and a pleasure to deal with. I would highly recommend her for anyone in the Montgomery County area looking to buy or sell a home.
Pleased Seller in Silver Spring
We had such a great experience with Alexa. Alexa helped me with virtually everything from staging and color choices to beautiful literature and friendly open houses. I could not have managed it all without her! She is cheerful, enthusiastic, incredibly knowledgeable, professional and patient! My home is an unusual contemporary in a traditional market, so the staging required multiple visits and lots of thought. Alexa found the perfect family for our home. I would also like to thank the entire team at WFP. Alexa, Kellyann & Karen. You are the best! Thank you!
We met Alexa several years ago when she sold a neighbor's house and we knew she would be the first person we would call whenever we decided to sell. Alexa was on top of every opportunity to sell our house and guided us through the process respecting our goals and concerns. We recommend her with the highest reviews.
Right from the outset Alexa was extremely professional and effective. She responded to emails and phone calls always almost instantaneously, and she really understood well my needs and preferences. Above all, I felt that I could trust her judgment and that she worked in my best interests, which is most important, from my viewpoint, for a relationship with a real estate agent. Everything, from our first encounter to the closing, went extremely smoothly.
Alexa Kempel is a true professional. We met Alexa by chance on an impromptu trip to look for rentals as we were relocating from PA to MD. Alexa immediately agreed to meet us to show us one of her new listings. It was an instant connection. Alexa was very honest and made us feel like we were her only clients when we were with her. We were so impressed with Alexa that when we were ready to buy a year later, there was no other choice but to call Alexa. She did a great job of helping us to find the home of our dreams. She was always available to take us house hunting even though we were looking for properties 20-30 minutes from where we lived. She connected us with a great mortgage broker that got us a great rate. We absolutely love our home but should we have to sell, Alexa will be at the top of the list!
Buyer, New Market, MD
I enthusiastically recommend Alexa Kempel and Lori Leasure of Washington Fine Properties. I consider them to be most outstanding residential realtors in the Washington, DC, Metropolitan Area.
Alexa and Lori worked as a team in the successful sale of our home in Potomac. I recommend each of them individually and both of them as a team. They are highly skilled and knowledgeable, extremely well respected, and always attentive, accessible, adaptable and focused on the best interests of their home buyer and home seller clients.
I write from personal experience as both a buyer and a seller of our family’s homes in the Washington Metropolitan Area. We have relocated our primary residence and used the services of fine realtors three times, including both the purchase and later the sale of homes in Washington, DC, suburban Virginia and most recently in suburban Maryland.
Individually, both Lori and Alexa have a broad range of skills in pricing, marketing, staging, presentation, and they have ready access to other professionals in all of those areas, plus reliable and reasonably priced contractors for appropriate home improvements or remodeling, furnishing, and financing. As a team, their skills and level of service are a multiple of their individual talents. They have a rare ability to identify the unique features or attributes of a home from the perspective of both buyers and sellers.
Throughout my experience with Alexa and Lori – from pre-listing consultations and advice through closing the sale and even after the closing, they were only a quick phone call away and always had insightful advice.
I rarely write recommendation letters, and I have no personal interest – financial or otherwise – in the realty business. I have only two purposes in writing this recommendation. First, I want publicly to recognize the exceptional service that Lori Leasure and Alexa Kempel provide. And second, I want to encourage other homeowners – both buyers and sellers – to benefit from considering them.
A Well-Served and Grateful Homeowner
Alexa was a wonderful agent. She walked me through what was a stressful process with gentleness and ease. She made it feel like a walk in the park. She is an expert negotiator and got me a great sale price on the house I sold. I would highly recommend her to all my friends.
Alexa is a phenomenal realtor and was perfect for us. She was very professional and yet also very personable. She did extensive research of comparable properties in order to advise us of the appropriate listing price as well as seeking the advice of fellow realtors in her agency. She was sensitive to our expectations but also very honest in conveying to us the current market situation. Alexa gave us excellent advice on how to prepare the home for the best presentation to potential buyers. She was very aggressive in having open houses at the most advantageous times, even if there was conflict with her personal life. In other words, we felt that Alexa was always working for us and our best interest. She was conscientious in reporting to us the interest that had developed from open houses and was diligent in following up with people who were promising.
When we realized that we would need to reduce the price, she developed a strategy to remove the additional lot and sell it separately. This made the home more affordable to interested parties but kept our total expected income close to the original listing price.
We were extremely pleased with Alexa as a realtor and recommend her without reservations. She gave us excellent advice; we appreciated it and followed. We were also pleased to say that in this experience Alexa has become a valued friend.
Wow, what a breath of fresh air. I have purchased many homes in my life and I have never...I mean NEVER...had an experience as delightful as the one I had with Alexa. Talk about professional! Talk about competent! Talk about having that can-do spirit who knows the answers to your questions before you even ask and even tells YOU things you need to do you did not even know to ensure your well- being. I was floored. I know these reviews can sometimes be gamed but I am here to tell you...this is for real. She was awesome.... If you want someone to make sure you make a smart decision with your most valuable asset and help you truly decide what the right home is for you, Alexa is the one to hire... don't even talk to anyone else... I promise you won't be sorry!!!!!!
We highly recommend Alexa for her professional skills. Moreover, we recommend her for her, patient, friendly and very pleasant way of dealing with the process, even when things get tense, which they sometimes will at a certain point of a real estate deal. She will smooth out the wrinkles calmly and graciously and will get the job done on time.
Thank you Alexa!

Realtor Customer -
I wanted to give my wholehearted recommendation for the services provided by Alexa Kempel and the Washington Fine Properties group. I had been looking for a specific floor plan condo in the community where I was renting. Alexa patiently used her skills to monitor the market (for almost two years) for new listings and we then successfully negotiated the purchase of a unit that I now own and occupy.
Alexa was an invaluable resource during the purchase negotiations and then did a masterful job monitoring the process of preparing for the closing of the sale. Her dedication to tasks and her bright and cheerful attitude made the whole experience that much easier for me.
I would not hesitate to recommend Alexa as your “go-to” realtor, whether you are buying or selling a property. She and her company are simply top-notch in my book.
Edmund “Ned” Duffy
I first met Alexa in 2010 when she hosted an open house in the Westmoreland Hills neighborhood of Bethesda, MD. I ended up buying that house. Subsequently, I changed jobs and had to relocate out of state in 2013. Alexa helped me rent that same house with virtually no vacancy time, which was a huge help to me. Just this month, Alexa was my agent to sell a condo that I owned in North Bethesda. Despite a lukewarm market and the fact that the condo building is undergoing significant renovations causing it to be less attractive to all potential buyers, Alexa closed a sale for me. So I have chosen Alexa to help me with three real estate transactions in the past four years and I am very satisfied with all aspects of her work — buying, selling and renting! Thanks, Alexa.
Alexa Kempel is an OUTSTANDING realtor!
Prior to selling our home my wife and I interviewed several realtors, and without question Alexa was our choice to represent the sale of our home.
She clearly demonstrated a thorough knowledge of the market and quickly developed both a short- and long-range strategic marketing plan for our sale.
Her strategy and hard work were completely successful. We sold our home in a short time frame with an outstanding offer from a highly qualified buyer.
During the process we found Alexa to be extremely professional, giving her close personal attention the entire time. She is a savvy negotiator, demonstrating honesty and integrity. She exceeded our expectations at every turn, and we would recommend her without question to anyone seeking the most qualified, personable and talented realtor in the marketplace.
We cannot say enough about Alexa. She was a pleasure to work with every step of the way, from listing through to final sale and closing!

Alexa did an outstanding job in helping to sell our home in a relatively short time at a respectable price, considering the real estate market. She was on top of things from the very beginning and was diligent in assuring that our home received a LOT of exposure. Whether it was printing and distributing beautiful flyers, making phone calls, or showing our home, Alexa was enthusiastic, thorough, and tireless! Every home sale has its challenges, and Alexa met each one of them with expertise, patience, and a sense of humor! I'm happy that we sold our home, but miss my (sometimes) daily calls with Alexa.
Alexa represented us on the sale of our home and the purchase of our new home. We had a great experience with Alexa and would highly recommend her to anyone on the buy or sell side. We were very impressed with her knowledge of the area, the market and her negotiating and marketing skills. Lastly, and importantly, Alexa is an extremely hard worker, super responsive and fun to work with.
Alexa was an incredible listing agent and made the entire process of selling my home extremely pleasurable. In addition, Alexa was the agent who sold me my home and also assisted in renting it during the time that I owned it. I would highly recommend Alexa to anyone interested in buying or selling in the area.
Thanks to Alexa, we are now in our dream home. I met Alexa at an open house and was immediately impressed with her helpfulness, knowledge of the area and positive attitude. Once my husband and I started working with her, she took us to numerous houses as we firmed up exactly what we were looking for. (We were making a local move and there was no need for us to rush.) We didn’t realize it at first, but we ended up narrowing our criteria to a combination of features that are rarely found together in a house. Alexa warned us that this might not be an easy combination to find. This would have been a nightmare for most realtors, but Alexa was confident she would find us a house. She notified us of lots of “alternatives,” just in case we wanted to change direction, but was never pushy about it. She did not want us to waste our time going to houses we would not be happy in. Because of her in-depth knowledge of the area, she even spotted an error in a new listing and saved us the time of going to a house that did not actually meet our criteria. When houses came on the market that did meet our criteria, we were viewing the houses within hours due to Alexa’s dedication and flexibility. Due to her vast network, she was even able to notify us of houses before they listed. Then, once we found the perfect house, she worked with the sellers to ensure our offer was accepted.
To get us to settlement, she led us step by step, reminding us of things we needed to do and answering questions along the way. We used the lender and inspector she recommended and were quite pleased. We were searching for a house when it was not the best time to be a buyer, but Alexa made house hunting a pleasant experience and we LOVE our new home — thanks Alexa!
It is my pleasure to write a testimonial on behalf of Alexa Kempel. In the summer of 2012, I was hired for my new position in Washington, DC, in late June but with a start date of August 16th. My family was living in Rochester, NY, at the time. We knew we wanted to move to Maryland and live relatively close to my new job placement, yet find a house within our budget. Through a realtor in Rochester, we were able to be linked up with Washington Fine Properties, and ultimately to Alexa Kempel. This was really our good fortune. Once we were connected, Ms. Kempel focused her questions to quickly determine our needs and price range. She analyzed all of the listings and arranged an array of homes for us to see. With my wife and youngest son, we drove down to Maryland and were able to see 8 homes in one day, and quickly narrowed down the possibilities. However, because of our narrow timeframe, and, trying to minimize the number of car trips down (7 hours each way), we asked Ms. Kempel if there was any way we could go back the next day and look at our three top choices. Although she had other plans for that next morning, Ms. Kempel cancelled them to accommodate us and we were able to revisit these homes (as well as a new listing) and were able to further narrow down to our two top choices. Approximately one week later, my wife drove back by herself and spent the day looking at these two homes (as well as two new listings) with Ms. Kempel. Subsequently, we were able to make a decision fairly quickly. However, we still had to negotiate a price, have a home inspection, find a mortgage realty broker, settle on the contract and closing date, and finalize a date for moving in. We were able to do all of this within six weeks. Ms. Kempel was there for us every step of the way, with a smile and generous spirit that uplifted us when we were unsure of the final outcome. She was truly a joy to work with, and I highly recommend her services for any individual(s) looking to relocate to the Maryland suburbs of Washington.
This is a letter of recommendation for Alexa Kempel. Alexa was our realtor when we sold our house in Potomac, Md. We interviewed several realtors from different real estate companies and felt that Alexa could best serve our interests. Alexa came to our first meeting with an extensive list of comparables in the Potomac area. We were able to see what had sold in the past and what was selling at the present time. We had already decluttered and depersonalized our house, but Alexa was able to give us some good tips on furniture removal and rearrangement to improve traffic flow in our house. Alexa made herself available to show our house whenever a potential buyer wanted to view it. She was always punctual, well groomed, and very enthusiastic. She certainly was a plus in promoting our property. Alexa worked with our realtor in Williamsburg and helped facilitate a smooth and effortless closing. We would definitely recommend Alexa Kempel as an outstanding realtor to use in the Potomac area.
As first-time home buyers my husband and I were both excited but at the same time a bit unsure of this new venture. We met Alexa at an open house and instantly knew we wanted to work with her. Alexa is very direct, thorough and attentive. Alexa listens, and reads her clients well by quickly understanding what they're looking for. It was very reassuring to know that Alexa represented us well; she is a good negotiator and you can tell she has a lot of experience dealing with all parties involved in a real estate purchase. She will reply to your emails, texts and phone calls day or night! We are very happy to have met Alexa -- we got our dream home and met a new friend!

Alexa is wonderful! My husband and I were first-time co-op buyers dealing with a very difficult seller, and although it could have been a stressful and complicated experience, Alexa made the whole experience a breeze. She listened to what we wanted and came up with great options, consistently gave us great advice on everything, was a savvy and effective negotiator, and just had great follow-through on everything she did. I can't speak highly enough about her.
Our circumstances were unusual. We live in California and owned a home in Darnestown. Alexa sold the home next door to ours. We met her on the phone and felt immediately like we had found a very special agent. She gave us very thorough advice on how to prepare our house for sale. We followed her advice, and she walked us through it step by step again because we live in California. We could not have done this preparation work without her. Our house went on the market, and one week later we had two wonderful offers. We selected one, and the rest of the process went smoothly and we were even able to close early. Alexa attended settlement. We had many, many contacts with Alexa both by phone and email. We know her and trust her and recommend her with our highest regard.

With the sale of our home behind us, this is an excellent time to let you know how much we appreciate everything you did for us. Selling a home in this uncertain market presented special hurdles that had to be overcome in order to minimize any potential impact on the sale of our home.
With your professional guidance, superb communications skills, and expertise in the greater Washington, D. C., Real Estate Market, we successfully navigated our way through every hurdle with an absolute minimum of effort, and a very satisfactory outcome.
The first and most important step we took was selecting a Realtor and Real Estate Agency with the expertise, and proven track record that could best handle our property. In this regard we could not have made a better selection than when we chose you and Washington Fine Properties.
From our very first meeting it was quickly apparent that we were in very good hands. The initial briefing you provided us on Washington Fine Properties and the expertise and resources you could bring to our needs was especially informative, comprehensive and answered all our questions. Throughout the process you kept us fully informed every step of the way with timely and useful advice and feedback. Your market analysis and frequent updates kept us up to date on the competitive nature of the local housing market and allowed us to position ourselves in exactly the right spot to attract a qualified buyer.
Your attention to detail and the number of times you went beyond the call of duty to help facilitate the successful sale of our home was greatly appreciated.
Please do not hesitate to list us as very satisfied clients.

I would like to take this opportunity to provide feedback on one of your agents, Alexa Kempel. When we first decided to put our house on the market, we interviewed a number of different agents from various companies. Alexa's overall professionalism made Washington Fine Properties the obvious choice.
Initially, we were apprehensive because we planned to be away from the D.C. area for extended periods of time and because most of our furniture and personal items remained in the house. Therefore, we were concerned about security as well as the sale itself. Alexa addressed our concerns and was able to make good recommendations regarding the best ways to show our house. Alexa treated our property as if it were her own.
Throughout the process Alexa kept us continually informed regarding the scheduling of individual showing and open houses. She continuously forwarded information regarding other sales and offerings within our geographic area and our price range.
We eventually sold out house to a foreign embassy. This type of sale was significantly more complicated than a sale to a private individual. Tax exemptions and other issues had to be coordinated. Alexa expertly guided us through the process and helped us to avoid some potential pitfalls.
Give the recent challenges in the real estate market, I feel that Alexa was able to generate a remarkable number of showing and offers leading to a sale at a solid price in a reasonable time period. Even after the closing, Alexa has continued to work on our behalf to ensure that we received escrows and other payments in a timely manner. We greatly appreciate this service after the sale.
In closing, I would be happy to serve as a reference for Alexa Kempel and commend your company for its high level of professionalism.

After closing on our first home, my wife and I wanted to take a moment to tell you how
pleased and how much we appreciate the diligent work of our agent Alexa Kempel. In
short, Alexa is excellent and a very strong representative of Washington Fine Properties.
As first-time homebuyers, my wife and I were uneasy as we began the process of looking
for homes. However, our minds were put to ease the moment we met Alexa. It was clear
that she was not only knowledgeable about the process and the area we were looking, but
that she was going to work extremely hard on our behalf. Our first impression is as true
today as it was when we met her.
Alexa was always available, always got back to us immediately when we had questions,
provided tremendous advice and counsel, and really worked hard to get us the best deal
possible. When we first found out that we had been referred to Washington Fine
Properties, we were immediately skeptical that we would receive the same service as one
of your clients seeking a more expensive property. We were wrong, we received the
highest level of service possible!
In summary and although my words can not adequately express our thanks to and
feelings about Alexa and WFP, we thought we would give it a shot. She is professional,
knowledgeable, a person of tremendous character, and an overall thoughtful individual.
Because of these qualities, she was able to work with us to get a GREAT deal on a new
home in Maryland. Needless to say, we are so pleased and wanted to share this with you.
We look forward to working with Alexa for all our future real estate needs and look
forward to referring all those we meet to Alexa and WFP for all their real estate needs.
Once again, thanks to you and your team for making our first-time home buying
experience better than we could have possibly imagined.
Sincerely and best,
Andy and Amy Burmeister
I am writing this letter to let you know about the wonderful experience we had with your colleague, Alexa Kempel, in the process of purchasing a home in Olney, Maryland. I would strongly recommend her to anyone contemplating a home purchase in the DC area.
Alexa came to us via a relocation referral through an agent we used to sell our home in Syracuse, New York, Andrew Besemer. The first time she called me she spent more than half an hour on the telephone, asking me about my needs and preferences, which gave me an initial signal that she was highly attentive and conscientious, I was still choosing among multiple agents, so I asked Andrew to call her and offer us his impression. He did so and reported back that he thought she would be highly effective for us. My and Andrew's initial impressions were right on target.
I am moving from a faculty position at Syracuse University to one at American University. I have a wife and two young children, ages four and two months. We will be moving in June, and a week and a half ago went to the DC area for a three-day house hunt visit, when we first had a chance to meet Alexa face-to-face.
Prior to that visit, Alexa and I spoke four or five times on the phone, as she wanted to gather full information on our needs. She and I bounced ideas back and forth on areas that would be suitable for my family. She then did research and forwarded to us about 25 listings that she recommended we investigate.
On the first day of the house hunting trip Alexa drove me around multiple neighborhoods in Takoma Park, Silver Spring, Potomac, Olney, Rockville and Gaithersburg. The next few days she accompanied my entire family as we visited houses that she had identified to be of particular interest. Each night during the visit she went online to identify additional places and refine the search. Throughout each day she was highly attentive to the concerns of my wife and myself, patiently answering our numerous questions about neighborhoods, schools, price, ways of assessing house quality and the house purchasing process. She was also very attuned to the presence of our two children and made sure that the process was not overly taxing for them.
On the final day - Saturday - we found a house that we loved and met all our needs. We decided to put in an offer, and Alexa carefully guided us on strategy, articulating the kinds of demands we might make that are reasonable, and those that might cause us to lose the place. The evidence on the value of her strategic advice is clear: We obtained the house at a cost that I am quite sure is lower than the place's actual value, and the sellers accepted every term of our offer without conditions. The place was certain to get additional offers, but Alexa got us in with the right offer before that happened. Alexa's intuition was right on target, and the selling agent indicated this was the first time in ages she had received a completely clean offer.
Alexa also has done much work behind the scenes. For instance, she helped us find a mortgage broker and was in constant communications with our Syracuse agent to make sure she understood our needs and that the process was moving forward smoothly. Since the signing of the contract she has been guiding us every step of the way, helping us arrange the inspection, advising us on pre-K for our four-year-old, letting us know all future steps we need to take to complete the transaction, allaying our fears about uncertainties, and answering all our queries. She is constantly in communication with us via email and phone to make sure we feel completely comfortable.
In sum, Alexa has been helpful beyond our expectations. She enabled us to clarify our preferences, find the house that conformed exactly to those preferences, purchase it at a highly competitive price, and sail through the complex process of home relocation with ease. She is extremely conscientious, friendly, skilled and expert at what she does. I hope that many future clients of your agency will have the privilege of benefitting from her services.
