I have to admit I was most impressed with the speed and efficiency at which Daryl Judy worked to close the deal on my first home purchase. I had been renting in Northwest DC for a year, and prior to the expiration of my lease I knew I wanted to buy a house. I spent the summer months aimlessly wandering from open house to open house looking at all types of homes, some starting in the mid-300s and some starting at over 3 million, curious to see how much money would buy what. Kimberly Casey and Daryl Judy did a fantastic job selling our home in February 2007. They sold our home in one day, which truly says it all. Not only did they sell it in one day they sold it during an ice storm during the brokers' open and a snow storm during the open house. It was literally the only two days that Washington, D.C., had snow in 2007. While I believe we had an exceptionally lovely home (of course we are biased), Kimberly and Daryl took the time to prepare our house so that it would "show"’ perfectly. Kimberly faced a special challenge in my case, since, with a relatively modest income and down payment capability, I was looking for a condominium in the expensive northwest district. Kimberly took full measure of my needs and closely watched the Washington market, educating me on the advantages and disadvantages of different neighborhoods while also showing me by email examples of what was available. I was grateful that Kimberly did not waste my time showing me marginal properties. She knew exactly what I wanted, and she used her superb knowledge of the Washington real estate market to look in the right places. When Kimberly did show me properties, they were solid contenders that met all my formal requirements.
Kimberly guided me to a condominium that turned out to be perfect for me. It was architecturally distinguished, with the right combination of light and space. Kimberly assured me that its location in the Logan Circle area would make it easy to rent. She was right. When six months after the purchase it came time to rent the apartment, several highly qualified potential renters came forward, and I had no trouble signing a two-year lease. Most importantly, I love the neighborhood myself and wonder how I could have contemplated living anywhere else in Washington.
Apart from finding the right property, Kimberly did a great job guiding me through the various stages of the purchase. She surprised me by negotiating a final price ten percent below the asking price, which had already seemed quite reasonable for the location. When the inspector discovered minor cosmetic flaws in the flooring, Kimberly negotiated a further reduction.
