District of Columbia
Since graduating Magna cum Laude from Barry University, Nelson has held competitive sales and business development positions, both internationally and in the U.S. Wanting to contribute more directly to communities in need, he transitioned into the non-profit sector. He worked on various fundraising initiatives and with organizations spanning community building, volunteerism, and general critical causes. Nelson played a role in achieving record-breaking results for the United Way of Greater Miami-Dade County.
In 2001, he was recruited by the University of Maryland’s A. James Clark School of Engineering, College Park. As Acting Assistant Dean of External Relations, he participated in securing multi-million-dollar charitable gifts and collaborated with a team that secured one of the highest charitable gifts to date in the history of the campus.
The Metropolitan DC area’s exciting real estate market lured him to return to a career in real estate (he was formerly licensed in Florida), and he is an active licensee in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia. He is a Top Producer and specializes in NW Washington neighborhoods and Capitol Hill, along with close-in Maryland and Virginia neighborhoods.
For 2016, Nelson has been ranked as one of America’s Top Real Estate Professionals for individual agent sales volume in DC by RealTrends, as featured in The Wall Street Journal, as well as one of Washingtonian Magazine’s Top Producers, in the Individuals Platinum category.
